It’s likely that the developers are focusing on the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, and any new Spider-Man title will come much later. The focus on Wolverine could be another contributing factor as to why Spider-Man 2 didn’t get any new story DLC. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be exclusively released on PS5 on October 20, 2023 at midnight, local time. With users able to pre-download the digital game prior to its release, they will be able to play the game as soon as it’s available for play in the PlayStation store. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC release boasts impactful graphical and performance enhancements that allow one of the greatest Spider-Man games to glow gold. While riddled with a few very minor performance issues, the dynamic combat and engaging narrative slings this game to the top of my favourite Action/Adventure games.

Even with the dense world of Spider-Man 2, the quick traversal that is possible in-game, and how that impacts the loading time of the environments, the RAM requirements still stick to 16GB at 1440p, keeping it in line with the PS5’s own specs. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has almost identical specs to Horizon Forbidden West, another PS5 game ported to PC. While older rigs can handle this game at 720p, you’ll need one of the best graphics card picks from our extensive buying guide if you’re going to be pushing for the highest graphical presets at high resolutions with ray tracing enabled.

Just be sure to check for the latest patches and adjust your settings accordingly for the best experience. Instead, Spider-Man 2 plumps for a pretty confused take on the now venerable black suit/Venom’s origin storyline. A highlight, though, is the theme that follows in Kraven’s footsteps, which bears more than a passing resemblance to Howard Shore’s Uruk-hai war march from The Lord of the Rings score. It soundtracks a world that looks stunning, even when played in performance mode at a stable 60fps as I did for most of my playthrough.
Enemies like Kraven the Hunter’s allies use techniques, counters and equipment to stalk Spider-Man like prey, forcing you to change up your tactics. Of course, a hero is nothing without its villains, and Spider-Man’s rogues gallery is almost unparalleled.
